In 2013, Natioal Comission on Child Protection stated that East Jakarta was an emergency situation for sexual violence against children. In addition, East Jakarta was the largest and most densely populated area, as well as a transit area for urbanites. That’s also causes vulnerability to the sexual violence cases.
On March 8th 2022, AMAN Indonesia received request assistance from Rohimah, Chief of Women School for Peace Pondok Bambu about sexual violent cases against children. Remembering the recurrence of the sexual violent cases in Pondok Bambu, AMAN Indonesia encourage the formation of Kelurahan Ramah Perempuan dan Peduli Anak.
Therefore, AMAN Indonesia conducted series of Focus Group Discussions involving several group in Pondok Bambu, children group, womens group, women youth group (12-17 and 18-30 years old), men youth group (12-17 and 18-30 years old), religious and community leaders groups and governments group in April 2022. This FGD aims to generate input, needs, including the vulnerabilities, capacities, obstacles and threats for the formation of Kelurahan Ramah Peremuan dan Peduli Anak.
